May 2019 Events

Be here the first weekend in May for an incredible, action-packed getaway!
So many events to enjoy, from NASCAR and nature to Dover Days and brews!

What are you doing the first weekend in May? Because Delaware's Quaint Villages is doing a LOT, and you're invited! Our whirlwind weekend gets underway on May 3rd with the "JEGS 200" NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Race. That's followed by the "Allied Steel Buildings 200" NASCAR XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash Race on the 4th and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race on the 5th, all at the Dover International Speedway, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

That would be plenty for any destination, but we're not just any other destination! May 4th also brings three festivals to the region. Celebrate our history and heritage with a parade, maypole dancing, games, music and re-enactors at the 86th annual Dover Days Festival. Afterward, sample craft brews and spirits and meads, listen to music and enjoy food truck eats at the 5th annual History, Heritage and Hops. Or celebrate spring in a Tree City USA location with a Ladybug and Tree costumed parade, kids activities, vendors and more at the 16th annual Bug & Bud Festival. You can also check out the Antiques Market at Silver Hill and the Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day at the Air Mobility Command Museum while you're in town.

Whew! No matter what you're in to, we have an event to suit you on May 4th—just a couple hours away from most mid-Atlantic hometowns.
