Kent County has both the topography and scenery for ideal cycling conditions, and September 7th's Amish Country Bike Tour (with its famous Amish Schoolhouse pie stop!) is one of the region's most beloved cycling events. If you can't make it for the Bike Tour, you'll find countless scenic places to cycle throughout our Quaint Villages year round.

As summer reaches its peak, so does the peach harvest. Be here the first Saturday in August for crafts, contests and peachy cuisine at the Wyoming Peach Festival. On August 10th, get a free peach cone at Fifer Orchards Peach Ice Cream Day. Or stock up on produce, Amish pastries and flea market finds at Spence's Bazaar & Amish Market every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

With its ample parking, crabbing pier and tidal marsh access, the new boating and fishing area at Little Creek is a must for your summer adventure. And fresh water fishers will love Killens Pond State Park with its boat rentals and 66 acres of fish-filled waters. If fishing's not your thing, enjoy a Delaware Bay sunset cruise from Captain's Lady Charters.

Step back in time at the Parson Thorne Mansion (aka Silver Hill). Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1971, it was home to many Delaware dignitaries, including Reverend Syndenham Thorne, instrumental in the development of Milford. Call ahead to tour. Visit nearby boutiques for a memento from your trip.

August offers an event to match every taste! The Smyrna Summer Concert Series brings Chaplin the Kid and Sweet Leda to the stage. Foodies will be treated to Blue Earl's Food Truck Throwdown. Craft spirits fans will be toasting the Delaware Beer, Wine & Spirits Festival at the Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village. And aspiring superheroes will flock to Dover Comic Con in downtown historic Dover.
