Saturday: Indulge at The Delaware Wine and Beer Festival!

We’re so excited for one of our favorite events of the year — one that brings together all of Delaware’s breweries, wineries, meadery, cideries, and distilleries in one picturesque location! Hosted on the Delaware State Fair Grounds in Harrington, The Delaware Wine and Beer Festival takes place from noon to 5pm on Saturday, October 14th, and will feature everything from games, DJs, and some snacks and gourmet goodies from some of Delaware’s favorite eateries. Plus, don’t miss a live performance by Tëaze, a “100% Hair Metal” 80s tribute band — from AC/DC, Def Leppard, Metallica, Poison, Van Halen, and more, you’ll catch all your favorite rock hits!

Tickets are on sale now for $35 and will be sold for $40 at the door. Each ticket is good for 10 tastings for beer, wine and spirits — additional tickets can be purchased inside festival gates. Plus, vendors and a wine store will be offering discounted goods (like bottles or cases of Delaware-made wines). It’s the perfect time to stock up your wine cellar! The Wine and Beer Festival will happen rain or shine: click here for more information and to plan your trip!

Sunday: Explore Kent County + Spend The Day Outdoors

After your big day, take the opportunity to sleep in and indulge in a big, delicious brunch! After you refuel, soak up Kent County’s rich history in historic downtown Dover, and as you meander along The Green, you’ll immerse yourself in the roots of our country’s founding. Stroll past The Old State House, which has stood since 1791, make your way to Legislative Mall to walk in the shoes of our country’s founding fathers, and wander past the Woodburn and Hall House, the home of Delaware’s governors (built in 1798!). This impressive and stately architecture makes for a lovely walk, perfect with a hot cup of coffee and good company.

Craving some time in the wild? Head to nearby Killens Pond State Park to soak up all the fall ambiance of the season! Stroll along the beautiful paths, and have a leisurely day exploring the woodlands and grassy fields of this historic 66-acre millpond park.
