Jack-O-Lantern Painting

Date: Saturday, October 7 2023

It's time to get spooky! Our modern Halloween traditions are rooted in Old World folklore. Most famous of these is the story of how the "Jack O'Lantern" got its name, which traces its roots back to Ireland. Hear this cautionary tale for yourself when you visit the John Bell House Interpretive Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and decorate a Jack O'Lantern of your very own! Supplies are LIMITED, and will be first come, first serve. This program is FREE to the public.
Be sure to take our incredibly popular True Crime Walking Tour to discover the heinous crimes that took place on the Dover Green!
These tours will take place on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Legislative Hall will also be available on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., as are guided tours of Woodburn, the Governor's Residence, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Our partner sites at the Biggs Museum of American Art, Old State House and Johnson Victrola Museum are also open for your exploration throughout the day!
