Blackbird Creek Fall Festival

The Blackbird Creek Fall Festival fosters stewardship of the Delaware Bayshore by celebrating the richness of estuaries and Delaware’s cultural traditions at our beautiful scenic site at the Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve. The festival is set for the third Saturday in October, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Blackbird Creek Reserve in Townsend.

The annual festival offers a variety of activities each year.

Exploring informational booths and displays
Checking out unique wares from local artisans and vendors
Trying a canoe or a kayak
Taking a guided habitat hike through the trails of the Blackbird Creek Reserve
Taking a tractor-pulled hayride through the Blackbird Creek Reserve
Trying some kid-focused crafts celebrating the outdoors and autumn
An Estuary scavenger hunt
Bird watching
Running and playing in the great outdoors

This year's festival also includes sachet-making demonstrations by historical interpreters from the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs’ John Dickinson Plantation.
