Get Revved Up for Dover Days: Plan Your Trip Now!

Dover Days are back! The 85th Annual Dover Days Festival kicks off Saturday, May 5, 2018, and runs all weekend long with nonstop fun, entertainment, and excitement for the whole family. You don’t want to miss this iconic Dover festival.

This year, celebrate the history and heritage of Dover like never before! We’re celebrating from horses to horsepower all in one great weekend, with both Dover Days and the Spring NASCAR Races at Dover International Speedway taking place May 4–6. It’s going to be a wild ride!

Dover Days is one of Delaware’s largest and longest-running free events, and is dedicated to promoting our state’s heritage and culture. Each year’s Dover Days activities showcase our state’s history and heritage, from our colonial artisans’ village to historic reenactment groups for the Revolutionary War, WWII and the Civil War.

The celebration continues with even more fun activities, including the annual parade, traditional Maypole dancing, the annual car show, carnival games, a moon bounce village, more than 150 arts and crafts and food vendors and more. And for the first time, there will also be a tethered hot-air balloon activity on the Legislative Mall — it’s an experience like no other!

The annual parade kicks off the festival at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 5! As the largest parade in Kent County, with Governor John Carney serving as Grand Marshal, it’s one event you’ll want to make sure you get there early to snag the best view.

You’ll definitely want to make it a whole weekend: Keep the fun going with the 4th Annual History, Heritage, & Hops Festival! Also on Saturday, May 5, right in downtown Dover, this kickin' annual block party is being held right after Dover Days this year. Enjoy live music, craft beverage tastings and fantastic food as restaurants, food trucks and vendors line up and down the Loockerman corridor. Feel good while you’re sippin’, too — all proceeds help fund beautification projects downtown.

Dover Days is a true celebration of the first state, right in the heart of Delaware’s Quaint Villages. It’s the best place to be for a full weekend of history, racing and craft beer tastings.
